GIRO is the natural bed bumper expressively designed for Babylodge^® Montessori beds.

Handcrafted in Italy by using pure, natural cotton only, it is available in two completely removable color variants. Featuring 210 cm length, 16 cm diameter and four pairs of strings, Babylodge^® GIRO allows several layouts and usages, starting from birth.

According to preference, it can be used alone or together with a second bed bumper. In addition, thanks to its versatility, it is ideal also as pregnancy and nursery pillow.

↬ “L” shape – Perfect when the bed is placed next to the wall or on the corner and you want to limit the child’s movement inside the bed’s perimeter. GIRO is secured to the bed’s poles and will not move. This layout is possible with standard size Babylodge^® beds.

↬ “RING” shape – Ideal for newborns. By tying together the internal pair of strings, GIRO turns into a nest that wraps and protects the baby with full safety and softness. This layout is possible with both standard and extended Babylodge^® beds.

↬ “U” shape – Ideal for protecting the head and the upper body while leaving freedom of movement. In this position, there’s no need to secure the strings to the bed. This layout is possible with both standard and extended Babylodge^® beds.

↬ “DOUBLE L” shape – Perfect when you want to limit the child’s movement inside the bed’s perimeter. Both GIRO bumpers are secured to the bed’s poles and will not move. This layout is possible with standard size Babylodge^® beds.

↬ “DOUBLE U” shape – Ideal for those who choose the beds’ extended version with little kids. By tying together two GIRO bumpers, you will obtain a 360° protection along the bed’s full perimeter. This layout is possible with extended Babylodge^® beds.

Other usages

Babylodge^® GIRO can also be used as pregnancy pillow, to ease the future mom’s rest and give some relief to back and legs while sleeping. After birth, it is also ideal as nursery pillow, as practical, soft support during breast-feeding.

How it is made

Babylodge^® GIRO is made of:

• a raw cotton staples filling, carded, sewn and handmade by Babylodge^® artisan mattress makers; each bumper comes with a raw cotton staple sewn next to the label to show the filling material, to be removed before usage;

• a soft, pure cotton, removable, and washable cover. OEKO-TEX Standard^® 100-certified (What does it mean? Find out here), it is available in two color variants and equipped with four pairs of strings, two for each edge. The zipper for inserting and removing the cover is sewn on the back and is hidden by a cotton fabric flap.

Being 100% natural, GIRO has no contraindications. Indeed, the combination of exclusively pure cotton, inside and outside, ensures maximum breathability and tolerability in any season and it is also gentle on babies’ and kids’ sensitive skin. All materials employed to make GIRO bed bumper are completely natural and hypoallergenic.

Care and maintenance

Filling: to preserve the product’s features, it is recommended to periodically expose it to sun and air in order to regenerate fibers and give renewed volume and softness.

Cover: it can be removed through the zipper placed on the back and can be easily washed. To preserve the fabric’s qualities, it is recommended to follow the washing and care instructions detailed in the label sewn on the item.
